Great Island, Very Beautiful.
Great Island, Very Beautiful. Nice and quiet, overall very clean (by Indonesian Island standards) and not overcrowded. Quite time consuming to get to which is why it's quiet. Also takes a bit of exploring on the island to find the best beaches and hidden away spots, which makes it even better! Good Diving and Snorkelling at the outer islands. Friendly locals and nice places to stay. If you have the time I would highly recommend a visit to this island, you won't be disappointed, but allow time to go exploring as the best parts of this island aren't in the main town! It is just on the brink of exploding into a major tourism destination so check it out before it gets too busy. Karimunjawa is actually an archipelago with 20 Island, and is not only the main one. Surrounded of nature, we can do all kind of plans, between just relax and disconnect, to enjoy diving in one of the small island which btw all of them have a beautiful coral reef, or just enjoy the beach. The town have also a night market where you can enjoy a fantastic fish and seafood dinner. We liked the quiet atmosphere and lack of development. We found the choices of restaurants quite poor It was obvious the economy of the island was poorl as there were lots of unoccupied, poorymaintained properties.
