We loved Bol, it was a lovely resort with plenty of restaurants, great walks and beaches and it had a friendly, laid-back vibe with people of all ages. Zlatni Rat beach was lovely and when we were there it wasn't overly busy and although clearly set up for tourists they seem to have kept the balance just about right (although the sun beds and shades are ridiculously expensive at 39 euros per day for 2 sunbeds and 1 umbrella), needless to say we didn't bother. The walk along the promenade to Zlatni Rat was gorgeous with lots to interest from interesting villas, bars, tourist gift stalls, sculptures and the tree cover made it shady and attractive. Equally the walk into town and the harbour and then further along to the monastery was also interesting and always something different to see. Food and drink is not cheap sadly but most of the meals we had were really good quality - for a special meal try Boket 78, our most expensive meal but the flavours were amazing. I had the lamb and it was one of the best meals I've ever had, hubby had the black risotto and he said it was full of flavour too. Also the vegan restaurant Biomania was lovely. Perfect for a chill holiday.
Perfect for a chill holiday. Beautiful, lots to do, great restaurants. Would recommend the Golden Horn beach for a swim, booking SUP boards for some exercise and wine tasting at Stina winery. If you decide not to do the wine tasting tour, it's a lovely place to sit and drink their amazing whites on the promenade overlooking the sea. My favourite restaurant was Vendetta - Sushi boats for 2 are a must! We had been in Croatia for a month Island hopping from Split. This was an amazing location. Just on the waterfront /walkway. Close to ferry, restaurants, shops and beaches. We were greeted by the owner upon arrival, The decor and attention to detail made it very comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom were well stocked. The rooftop pool has an amazing view and has many sun beds alongside space to eat and shade. The room was large with a clean bathroom, space for storage and a balcony. The buffet breakfast was also a great addition and had a lot of variety with some Croatian delicacies which added a great touch. We had a really good stay! We had all we needed there. Beach is not very close if you go on foot, but not too far also. We preferred Murvita Baech anyways (it's smaller, quieter and less crowded than Zlatni Rat. Parking is cheeper also). Bol is a beautiful place.
