We vistit the city in October 2025. The town of Amarynthos itself was very boring and most restaurants were closed or had a very limited selection of food and drinks. Unfortunately, we had several experiences of downright rude and poor behavior and service towards us as guests. Amarinthos itself is a bit quiet. There is much more going on in the nearby town of Eretria. (I visited Evia for a sea kayaking course in Eretria, and stayed in a hotel in Amarinthos only because it offered better value than many of the hotels in Eretria.)Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Pension Posidonia is really beautiful - we had a lovely balcony overlooking the sea, surrounded by a garden full of oleander and other flowers. The free sunbeds and umbrellas are on the doorstep, the beach is lovely, and the views are stunning. We swam all day and sunbathed then wandered a 5 minute walk to good seafood restaurants overlooking the sea. Shops are even closer, everywhere was very accessible. Our delightful host recommended Louis, one of the many restaurants, and was incredibly warm, welcoming and helpful in every way. She speaks excellent English, and ordered us our taxi to the airport when we - reluctantly! - had to go home. Definitely 5 stars!Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
