Lovely village but getting very busy. Restaurants were excellent and staff in them very polite and attentive. Akrotiri is a beautiful town. I definitely recommend visiting the Akrotiri archaeological site, but the entrance fee of 20 euros is honestly way too expensive. The place is amazing, with both red and black sand beaches that are truly unique. The food is delicious- we tried several restaurants, and both the service and meals were consistently excellent. Akrotiri Was much quieter than the other side of the island (Oia). The village is small and has the small town feel. I am from a big city in the United States, so Akrotiri was a very different than home. Being Americans, and Black Americans to add, we stood out from the other people we encountered.
