We cant really comment on the immediate surrounding area in more detail as we arrived late on a business trip. However I can recommend the general location area around Plymouth for its historic landscape and beauty. Walking in the West Country is the best way to enjoy the fresh air and take in this beautiful count. The Rose and Crown was a lovely place to stay.
The Rose and Crown was a lovely place to stay. The staff were friendly and very helpful at all times. It was very convenient for visiting different beaches and for walking the coast path. We found lovely paths where we didn't have to use the car, and could walk from the Rosie. It was easy to catch a bus into Plymouth to save taking the car in , and if you have a bus pass, even better.Guest review byJudithUnited Kingdom - 8.0

The hotel is central and within easy reach of the beach and moors but you need a car. The food is excellent and there are a couple of other restaurants in the area. A small row of shops is near the hotel which cover most necessities, as well as a garage and petrol station.Guest review byDavidFrance
