I used to live very close to the town for many years. However, my stay at the Beambridge was the first time I have stayed there . Excellent value for money and exceptional service, thank you. Food was good value, with efficient fast service, no waiting. So excellent. Bar and food very good, staff very friendly, bedroom accommodation very poor. Our main reason was to have a good standard of a good standard of accommodation which this is not. We came back to the town of my birth for a wedding so only stayed one night. However If circumstances had been different we would have been very happy to have stayed here longer. We needed to drop off our luggage early and they were very welcoming and helpful with this. Although we returned late we noticed at breakfast that whilst there is no evening restaurant guests can either eat close by, or bring a takeaway into the dinning room and wine glasses are available on request. Breakfast was first class and extremely good value. All in all a delightful place to stay in the heart of the town, close to all facilities and local transport and parking. The owner was friendly on arrival and keen to give us all of the relevant information we needed for our stay. The restaurant was lovely as was the food. The chef was very friendly and helpful in assisting us with gluten free options and alternatives for dinner and breakfast. Unfortunately we wouldn't come back to stay. The upstairs is very old and dated. It needs a good clean and updating. The wallpaper is hanging off under the window in the room we stayed in. The carpets are old and trodden in, the en-suite wasn't finished with wood work missing and a leaking shower. The laminate was peeling off the shower walls.
