Everything. Truely a fabulous experience. The hosts K&M were impeccable. Nothing was ever a problem and the knowledge of the area for recommendations were spot on. Rooms decorated to a high modern standard and the pool area was lush! Breakfast was made to order and delicious! Will be recomending to everyone going that direction. We were super impressed!! This is a lovely hotel with great rooms at a great price for the location. A lively bar scene and all facilities great. The manager was very friendly and accommodating and even gave us a refund when our plans went awry and we couldn’t stay one night, even though they were not obliged to.

Charming historic hotel in a beautiful panoramic location. The service provided by the staff was EXCELLENT! The restaurant offers good quality dinners with generous portions. Breakfast, on the other hand, was truly abundant and of very high quality. We stayed in a basic economy room, which was simple but had everything we needed. It was clean, though not soundproof. Overall, a great stopover for anyone on a road trip across the UK. The city itself isn’t among the most beautiful, but the hotel definitely makes up for it.

We know Shaldon very well, living within 30 minutes drive. But, for anyone visiting for the first time, the village is a real gem! Two great pubs, the London and the Ferry Boat Inn, as well the Ness Hotel and bar. Beautiful setting overlooking Teignmouth. The village is a warren of old and quaint cottages and houses, full of character and charm. Good local convenience store and independent butchers. Nice coffee shops and cafes. If visiting, you must take the foot ferry over to Teignmouth and experience the beauty of the river. The locals are very friendly and village vibe is so laid back it is impossible not to soak into full relaxation.

Sheldon is a small town, but very relaxed atmosphere (we were there mid September, so might be different in full summer). There are a couple of very good cafes and pubs, including the Clipper inn and The Ness up on the hill. It is quiet, and the pedestrian ferry across to Teignmouth is very handy, although it is only a roughly 30 minute walk over the bridge. The botanical gardens are a nice stroll, but it is a little bit of a climb up though worth it for the view. There is also a small zoo (we did not visit it) and the walk along the river is peaceful.

Shaldon is an historic riverside town, full of character, with relatively easy access to the many attractions in this part of Devon. Pleasant coastal walks from the town. There are several eating options for meals within walking distance, and an excellent bakery. The roads may be a little narrow, but they were built at a time when the combustion engine was not around.

Returned to Shaldon for a short break as we loved it previously having stayed for a week 6 years ago . Great traditional fishing village with pubs , restaurants , local amenities , etc. Ate at The Clipper Cafe and The London Inn (Owner Tim is a great host and very knowledgeable about the area and the Spirits he sells in his pub) Narrow streets and parking can be tricky .

Lovely place to visit with good beach for dog walking and watching the boats and fishermen. The village is pretty with good amenities - great bakery, butcher's shop and convenience store. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Would recommend Cafe-ODE, the Clipper Cafe and The Ferry Boat Inn ( a great pub). Found food at The London (incredibly salty Beef Stroganof and awful deep fried seafood platter) and The Ness ( overcooked dry steak pie) very, very disappointing, though service in both places was good.

This bijou property is perfect for two or a family using the comfortable sofa bed. The sofa bed was already made up for us on arrival. Kitchen very well appointed with coffee machine and milk in the fridge. Very cosy and warm. Property is attached to the host's house and part of the garden is segregated off for the rental. Direct views to the estuary, rabbits in the garden and a lovely walk along the edge of the river to get to the village centre. Our hosts were very helpful and friendly. Definitely recommended.

Cosy, well equipped lodge in a secluded location. Great if you want to get away from it all but near enough to Shaldon for the shops and coastline (about 20 mins walk along quiet picturesque lanes). Ian and Sharon are truly welcoming hosts and it was lovely to talk to Ian about his Art Career, and a privilege to get a look in his studio attached to the lodge and his new work. Lovely local independent cafes, pubs, bakery and butchers in Shaldon village and a good base to explore the surrounding area.

The cottage is beautifully decorated, it has everything you need, the bed was super comfortable and I enjoyed a long soak in the lovely bathtub. We enjoyed the area, found some lovely restaurants nearby.the host Eve is super attentive, easily contacted for any questions and left us a bottle of fizz and chocolates on arrival a very welcoming gift.
