We loved everything about this place. The room was great, clean and well equipped. Breakfast was good, dinner was great. The very young waiter at dinner was very good but devoid of any sense of humour, but very nice, the chef/manager (?) was unusual but very pleasant. The lady running the place was lovely in every way. We will definitely be back.

Property is absolutely immaculate and homely, and has every appliance and utensil required for a comfortable stay, and quite literally a stones-throw from Rugby town centre. Car parking available in the lane next to the property. Trouble-free access to front door key via lock box with a simple code. Wi-fi easily accessed and reliable. Super-comfy beds! Smart TV with all the apps. Fantastic spacious and stylish bathroom! The whole property was warm and toasty throughout when we arrived and the owner is extremely friendly and easily contactable should there be any issues..... but there were none at all! It was only a one night stay, but we felt so comfortable and relaxed here so in a nutshell, we would most definitely stay here again, and we would certainly recommend to others.

Rugby is a pretty little town with some history.

Rugby is a pretty little town with some history. Most shopping is now in small retail estates on the outskirts, allowing for larger premises and stock. This means the towh centre has small cosy cafes drinking holes and a smattering of charity shops.

A great gallery with international artists showing work.

A great gallery with international artists showing work. Very pleasant library and museum with cafe selling very homemade quiches. The town is full of places to drink and eat. It has a range of buildings of interest and of course the school and its history. It is easy to visit surrounding countryside and canal side activities. Access from the motorway makes it a great half way to the north if coming from London or South East.

We needed to be in the vicinity and but for the appalling weather that weekend I could have spent a few hours happily looking round, but I wouldn't choose Rugby as a place to visit. However, the Draycote Hotel is such good value and so well situated that I would stay there again as a base for places nearby.

There are some wonderful quirky shops in Rugby and the laneways and buildings have wonderful architect and history. Wonderful bookshop in the city centre, worth just going in to experience how they fit so much into the shop. Dalias bistro is also a unique place to go and eat, the food is very good and it is family run which makes a difference. So much to see if you just go exploring.

It was about 20 years since I had been to Rugby.

It was about 20 years since I had been to Rugby. Lots of changes, but the main shopping streets seem to be doing okay, certainly in comparison to other towns of similar size that I have visited recently. Whilst there are lots of fast food shops, nail bars, barbers and charity shops, there is also a good selection of restaurants, cafés and independent shop. There was also a small market in the centre on the Saturday morning. I suspect the presence of Rugby School brings significant benefits to the town.

We really enjoyed our stay at Tim’s place. It was comfortable, spacious and Tim contacted me prior to arrival and met us at the property to show us around which was great. We found the kitchen area really useful for our stay, but it’s where I grew up so I know the surrounding area really well - there are tons of shops and places to eat at Elliot’s Field and Junction One retail parks just down the road and you aren’t far from Rugby town centre either.

The hotel location is number 1. Then you must remember this is a very, very old building. Besides these items, the hotel has recently gone through big changes and upgrades which have made it a much better place to stay.
