Only take-away food establishments in the village plus a convenience store. Oakley Arms approximately 10 minute drive from the village serves excellent value for money meals though they only serve up to 8pm. There are other places to eat in Porthmadog. Ffestiniog railway passes through the village and there is a station though we did not use it. Good touring base for all North West Wales. The beautiful town, Portmeirion is around a 10 minute drive away from the property, though no dogs are allowed here. Keep this in mind if you have your pooch with you. You'll find a lot of the beaches are dog friendly but do check as this changes summer time. I love North Wales! What a place.. Good location to visit many attractions and the town with a supermarket so you could pick up any groceries plus several eating places which is so convenient to grab food if you didn't want to cook.
