We came as a family of which part were going to the Goodwood Festival of Speed. We were welcomed and given keys to our four rooms immediately. Two in the old part of the hotel and two in the modern block at the back. The rooms were full of character, charm,clean, quite spacious and had everything needed. We ate dinner one evening and the food was excellent. Special mention to the Bar Manager who went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. He kept checking on us and arranged the lounge area so we could all sit together and chat. Always cheerful and attentive.

We were extremely pleased with the 24/7 reception and free parking. Really friendly and helpful staff. The facilities that were provided for a short stay at a very affordable price were very clean. Will be top of our list next time we are in the area.

    Situated in Ropely just outside New Alresford but easy to get to . nice little town plenty of places to eat, and the heretige line railway station was good to visit.. not far from more major attractions and easy roads to get there.

    Attractive, friendly little town. Variety of restaurants and eateries to suit most pockets - some excellent venues. Market Thursdays Some lovely walks by the river. Watercress Line good value and fun!

    Great location for walking, shopping,cafes/ pubs( independents).Watercress Line , two golf courses close by( Alresford & Avington) plus tennis courts( need to book ). Winchester close by to explore too.

    We went for a lovely walk along the river.Areas to sit and enjoy the countryside.Everyone was friendly and said hello when passing . Visited coffee shop 1,good and the tea room Tiffins was excellent.Excellent evening meal at the Swan hotel.Wonderful buildings to see and visit.Lots more we could have done but didn't have the time.

    We visited New Alresford as we were going on the Watercress Line for the Christmas Illuminations experience. The town itself is small but beautiful and we enjoyed a little stroll around despite the fact that Covid restrictions are in place.

    The house was spotlessly clean. It is well equipped. There were thoughtful touches and basic supplies on arrival. Our host, Jen, kept us well informed, especially when my arrival plans changed. The house is located close to the centre of New Alresford and convenient for nearby attractions such as Jane Austen's House, the Watercress Line and Grange Opera Festival. What we liked most was that it felt like a well-loved family home rather than soulless holiday accommodation. Recommended.

    I am a regular visitor to this hotel and it never disappoints. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms and a great location. The bar area has a great selection of beers at reasonable prices. The food here is of a high standard, I had the lamb which was very tasty. The town of New Alresford is well worth a visit or the hotel can be used as a base to visit the area. The bus for Alton stops just across the road or the bus to Winchester is also close by.

    Superb location, and very well equipped home. Met by the owner who was very helpful, and one of the most accommodating hosts we have encountered. Fully fitted kitchen with plentiful supplies. Home in a quiet cul de sac with a beautiful garden within easy walking distance of the delightful village of New Alresford.
