The cottage was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. We didn't see or speak to the owner or any staff but things were pretty straight forward so no issues. It was in the perfect location and had some lovely welcoming touches.

Minehead has a holiday feel, probably due to Butlins and...

Minehead has a holiday feel, probably due to Butlins and people looking for something to do other than stay in there. The town is small, the bus service good. The Shops are all there, and banks too. Cafes abound. The steam train trip is expensive. The Dunster castle is better suited to a car visit because the walk up from the bus stop is hard. The nearby village of Watchet is ok for a visit, got a very reasonable cafe and a pleasant walk on the harbour. NOTE- if you go by coach to get to butlins, be prepared for a very cosy trip on the bus!! It was a shock to find that the Nat Exp coach took us to Taunton, then we had to get the bus 28 ( all included in the ticket) from there to butlins. Very crowded on change over day.

We liked easy walks along the promenade and to the harbour.

We liked easy walks along the promenade and to the harbour. Shops in the Avenue were interesting and convenient. Pub meals not good but Fish and Chips good and we liked the Wheelhouse Restaurant. Had to book for next evening. Visited Dunster and Porlock which were picturesque villages but difficult to park and get around easily. Dunster Castle too expensive. Main road to Minehead from M5 narrow, winding and busy - quite dangerous. Took bus to Porlock.

Minehead with a small picturesque harbour set on the Bristol channel. Always makes me smile when driving down the sea walled road out of town. The Old Ship Aground pub sits prominent over looking harbour and boats. A pub with a few rooms well worth a stay , I'll be back soon 😀

Bustling town. Nice individual shops. Sandy beach. Near to quirky small villages and exmoor. Steam train alights in the town which is ideal. Plenty of choice for drinks and meals and snacks. The food in the Quay was delicious. People friendly. Town very clean no litter

We preferred nearby Dunster: Minehead was traffic congested, but it was school holiday time. Dunster Castle tour was a highlight. We ate at two of the nearby local pubs, and on one evening had dinner in the dining room at The Luttrell Arms hotel in Dunster.

The shopping is hit and miss.

The shopping is hit and miss. Some shops are open whilst others only open a few days a week. Being that it was the height of the season you would expect to find the tea shops and antique shops open, but alas, no. The shopkeepers are letting down the landlords and hoteliers who work hard to attract visitors - such a shame. Minehead is a gateway to Exmoor and is surrounded by the most beautiful scenery.

Staff were incredible. We forgot our dogs food and water bowls so made do with a paper plate and cup for water and when we arrived back at the hotel the next day the cleaner had put out dog bowls for food and water and a little bowl of treats for our pup. Really really lovely people. Great stay all round, we will definitely be back

My brother lives in minehead, we always get together for st Patrick’s weekend. The beach hotel is prime location for all the activities that we want to do, The staff are amazing, the food is lovely, The rooms have a hairdryer, and have plenty of space

The hotel was warm and comfortable. The room was spacious and we had a lovely sea view. The bathroom was clean but the water pressure for the shower could have been better. The hotel was ideally situated for the town centre and the steam railway.
