We loved walking the extensive grounds and appreciated the size of our room. Our bathroom alone was the size of some hotel rooms. The port tasting was fun. The highlight was the owl and hawk experience, which was beyond fabulous. The place has a great and very accommodating staff.

Our 2nd time and most definitely not our last. It’s a beautiful cottage with all you need for your stay. It’s perfect for relaxing, walking, pubs, shops. The bedrooms are all lovely and the beds comfy. It’s clean, warm and has enough space for everyone to be comfortable. The hosts are great and very responsive. They also send you lots of info on what’s available locally and a little further afield but we just park up the car and chill in Masham as it’s lovely as are the people. You will not be disappointed if you book this place!

We stayed at Morton House for one night as part of a cycling trip. It was absolutely perfect for what we needed - really comfortable, central location, spacious…. There’s even a piano 🤣. We had a couple of last minute changes to our group numbers and Michelle (the owner) was really understanding and very helpful

We visited The Forbidden Corner, which was great fun.

We visited The Forbidden Corner, which was great fun. Our granddaughter is 6 and she thought it was brilliant, especially as it was the day before Halloween. Just stayed in Masham for 1 night, then to Fountains Abbey the following day. The square in Masham is lovely and would have looked round. Must go again and stay longer.

Masham is a beer drinkers paradise.

Masham is a beer drinkers paradise. There are two breweries, both with visitors centres and brewery taps. The 4 pubs in the small town all serve the local beers. There are plenty of cafes for that well earned coffee and cake, after exploring the local area on a walk or two. There is a market on Saturdays, however as most of the parking spaces are in the marketplace, this can make parking a challenge.

Masham is a lovely market town full of character.

Masham is a lovely market town full of character. Ideal location for touring the area. We stayed and ate at the Kings Head Hotel which is directly opposite the market square which had plenty of free parking. The hotel staff made everyone welcome and could not do enough to assist making the stay memorable. Masham is also home of The Black Sheep Brewery and the tour was excellent.

A beautiful archetypal English market town on the fringe of...

A beautiful archetypal English market town on the fringe of the Yorkshire Dales. Masham's market square is possibly the best example of this rural feature anywhere. Local produce is widely available in the town's pubs, hotels and shops and the locally-brewed ales are, of course, excellent.

Two breweries in one small town, what is there not to like!

Two breweries in one small town, what is there not to like! Lovely market town on the edge of the dales. Yorkshire stone cottages, a decent sized market place,with parking. A couple of cafes and shops. Lots to see in the local area.

Not too much to see in Masham itself.

Not too much to see in Masham itself. Would have loved to see the sheep fair but loads to do in the area, Druids Temple, Thorp Perrow was amazing fabulous grounds saw the owl flying display, goats, wallabies & meerkats and a lovely tea room

We were road tripping without plans and happened across this gem when turning in for the night and needed somewhere dog friendly. They keep dog owners and others separate to keep everyone happy. Food was spectacular. Good prices and exceptionally friendly staff. Village is beautiful and some good ales.

Lovely flow out to the garden. Great location in the centre of Masham. Fabulous butchers across the road. All pubs and breweries easy walking distance. We were worried about parking, but got to park 2 cars on the road or in long stay, which is a couple of minutes walk down some stairs.

Everything you need for an enjoyable weekend, 5 min walk to market square, 3 min walk to white bear hotel for good food and drinks. Have stayed at the lodge previously and will definitely be back, tea, coffee, milk and sugar supplied fresh croissants as well. Wonderful property.

The location is absolutely beautiful. The Garden House is right in the town of Masham near restaurants and pubs. The breakfast was really nice and plenty of it. Jude is a fabulous host. She is so friendly and welcoming.
