Perfect location to Hadrians Wall. Very quiet village. Our room was very small but adequate for two nights. The breakfast every morning was delicious. Dinner in the restaurant was also excellent. Loved our stay here..

Maybe it looks strange that we gave each question 10 points, but any point deserved it. We are travelling three weeks through England and mostly Scotland, but up to now Kate's and Ian's house was the most so comfortable, beautiful, tasteful and relaxing that we were so happy. How stupid that we only stayed one night, all other guests do longer and some are there for the fourth time. And our hosts are so wonderful. How ever could I choose less than 10 points. And the landscape... So nice and beautiful. And silent... Only the birds sing too loud :) Kate and Ian: thanks so much!

Everything was great. The location is amazing if you are looking for a quite stay in the countryside. The owners are very friendly and kind. Rooms are exceptional, very clean and comfortable. They also provided us with a safe storage room for our bikes. Breakfast was great!

Clean well appointed rooms with all the facilities required. Hosts were helpful and knowledgeable about the local area and knew how to get the best out of a visit to Hadrians Wall. They even prepared picnic style lunches.

This place is exactly what you hope to find at the end of the day after a long hike - an authentic old english pub with great food and drinks. The rooms were much bigger and more comfortable than expected and included a kitchen and living area.

    Really handy for Hadrian's Wall, accessible by train and...

    Really handy for Hadrian's Wall, accessible by train and with a decent local bus service. This is a small town and busy in the summer, quiet in the winter, set in gorgeous countryside all year round. We had good food at the Manor House Inn. The local landscape and history are obviously the big draws here, if you can walk or cycle it's perfect country for it.

    Lovely little town that is the centre of Britain. Full of character, great mix of small private businesses and larger chains. Excellent restaurants and pubs. Stay here to explore the width of Britain at it's narrowest part.

    Haltwhistle was a nice town with enough to see and do.

    Haltwhistle was a nice town with enough to see and do. We enjoyed our walk out to Hadrians Wall, despite the lack of sign-posting for walkers in town. It was a shame that shops in town appeared to close early in the afternoon, however being a small town it was to be expected

    Haltwhistle is a lovely little town with loads of independent shops as well as a chemist, Co-op and Sainsburys. There are loads of places to eat out in Haltwhistle, we had a lovely evening meal at the Manor House Hotel and Restaurant, with excellent service and delicious food. We also had breakfast at Bonnie's which was really good. People are very friendly and helpful in the town. Don't forget to get the infamous photo at the centre of Great Britain!

    Haltwhistle was a great location to access Hadrians wall and...

    Haltwhistle was a great location to access Hadrians wall and the Roman forts , we were there on May bank holiday Sunday and almost all the town was shut up except a couple of restaurants and a co op shop. On BH Monday there was one pub serving food and they had shut the kitchen by 7.15 pm having run out of food. I found the town deserted which was a shame.We ate in Jethros cafe on the Sunday night which was great , lovely food and waitresses , can recommend that cafe.

    A cosy and private place in the middle of the countryside with a beautiful view. Located nearby Haltwhistle with many options for meals and drinks. Hadrians wall can be reached within a few minutes. Fully equipped. Individual breakfast considering all wishes after prior notification. Comfy beds. Fearga and Graham are such friendly and open minded hosts. They met all our needs and provided us with many helpful information. 12 points if it were an ESC ranking. 👌😇

    We enjoyed our stay in Haltwhistle, the apartment was clean and comfortable. Well equipped kitchen, lovely bathroom and very comfortable bed. Central location, clear instructions re entry and we managed to find a park out the front without too much trouble.

    The house is really well-located in the heart of Haltwhistle. It is spacious, clean and comfortable with three good size double bedrooms, one of which has an ensuite. The shower is excellent.
