Welcoming as soon as we arrived. Helpful, friendly hosts who ensured we had a great visit. Loved the theme with Sheep on towels, bedding decorations etc. Location is excellent, in village of Great Longstone and 3 pubs. You can walk everywhere from here. Would highly recommend staying here either for relaxation or exploring the beautiful Peak District.

The host is very kind and waited for our arrival even though was late in the night, as we had a heavy rain on the arrival day. She was kind enough to leave us some cake and beverages. The property has everything you need for a fabulous holiday. The location is great to explore the Peak District but also good for a day off in Manchester or even Liverpool.

From the moment I booked the team at Merchants Yard went above and beyond to ensure I had the best possible stay. Nothing was a problem for them, organising flowers as we were celebrating our 25th Anniversary, booking a table for dinner, offering advice on things to do near by and much much more. On check in the team were brilliant, friendly welcome and a complimentary drink (thank you). Throughout our stay the team were amazing, always happy and made sure we had everything we needed. We had a wonderful stay at the H Boutique Hotel in Bakewell. The staff was absolutely lovely — attentive, kind, and always willing to help so we could explore the area with peace of mind. One of the best places I have ever stayed at! Centrally located in the Peak District it is a perfect base from which to explore the whole area. The building, interiors and gardens are well kept, well decorated and exceptionally charming. The room was spacious and full if light. The food was of amazing quality and simply delicious. The staff were helpful, friendly and extremely attentive. You can tell everyone is working to make your stay as special as possible.

I couldn't fault our trip - it was simply wonderful from start to finish. We had booked a king room which was amazing, so spacious, clean and modern. Topped off by a beautiful mountain view. The surrounding area had lovely walks with scenery for miles! The Blind Bull staff were all so friendly and welcoming, taking a genuine interest in your stay. There were so many small touches which made the stay feel extra special! The food was exceptional - everything tasted so good so I would definitely recommend booking an evening dinner in the restaurant.

Great Longstone is an ideal base for the Monsal Trail.

Great Longstone is an ideal base for the Monsal Trail. It is minutes from the trail and is ideally suited midway. To the north-west is Monsal Dale, with its tunnels and viaduct, as well as the cafe at Millers Dale. On a good day, the views are stunning and there are many walks either in the Dales or Peaks leading from this. In the other direction, easily walkable is Hassop and Bakewell, so the location is great for a short stay. Two pubs to recommend; The Crispin in Great Longstone, traditional pub with generous meals. Also, the Packhorse in Little Longstone, a ten minute walk across the fields. A new landlord with a really interesting and tasty food menu and a wine list that would not be out of place in a much more expensive restaurant. You will probably need to book at both of these

Everything we hoped for was fulfilled.

Everything we hoped for was fulfilled. The room was excellent as were our hosts Annie & Adam, also the facilities, ironing board, fridge, hair dryer and tea/coffee. The locations very quiet with a great pub only being 2 minutes walk away. We ate in the pub for 2 nights which was superb and on the last night visited the Shalimar in Matlock, again superb. We visited Chatsworth house, Bolsover Castle & Haddon House which were extremely enjoyable experiences. Suffice to say we would definitely stay here again.

Great location.

Great location. 2 fab pubs very close by and another The Packhorse a 15 min walk. All served great food. A small simple cottage but perfectly adequate for 3 friends for a few nights away .Comfy beds and everything worked. Well equiped kitchen and a welcome pack of essentials.

The title shown above is Great Longstone and should actually read Little Longstone!!! What a lovely, calm, welcoming, oasis!!! We experienced a lovely stay here and would definitely return. Thanks to our hosts Anna & Ian, who are simply the nicest hosts in the business, Anna is certainly the master of her craft in all respects and what a master of her craft in producing delightful breakfasts and superb cakes.!!! Widen you belts!! Excellent!
