From the moment we arrived to our departure, the staff was extremely warm and friendly. The hotel is perfectly located on the harbor and we had a splendid view of the harbor from our windows. The room was elegantly decorated and very comfortable, including the terrific mattress for a good night's sleep. It had a nice sitting area for reading and watching the news. The bathroom was large and supplied with Chopard amenities. The adjacent restaurant George's serves a very nice breakfast and a wonderful dinner.

Le Laternon is a home and an adventure in one. Everywhere you turn you are comforted and delighted by what you see and feel. From the incredible art works on the walls to the perfectly worn wood and finders linens….. it was difficult to tear myself away to venture outside. I imagine coming back in the wintertime. The property is in a great location. It is clean and comfortable. The Kitchen is well equipped. The bathroom is great. All good quality. Although the sofa bed is a bit creaky to begin with it is comfortable. Communication with Kevin was good. Thank you for a great stay.

    To visit the island a car or bicycle is very useful although there is a bus service. Many other interesting villages to visit on the island. Plenty of good restaurants particularly away from the main tourist areas.

    At the end of the season - mid September it was not too busy...

    At the end of the season - mid September it was not too busy but had plenty of restaurants to choose from. We had our dog with us so appreciated the walking areas around St Martin although the beaches are not available to the dogs. We loved the beach restaurant at Cible but you need to reserve by SMS. Fantastic fish! Also liked La Flotte, Arse en Re and Bois Plage. We drove and walked but the cycle paths are abundant but so are the cyclists!

    Very safe town to walk around, some nice upmarket shops. Plenty of places to rent bikes. I found a lovely little beach for a morning swim 1.4km from the port, it had a well marked swimming area and lifeguard, locals were taking their early morning swim there, highly recommended.

    Stunning town and the port in particular.

    Stunning town and the port in particular. Great central location on the island, so you can easily use the network or cycling tracks to visit other places. The best beaches are on the south coast of the island, which you can easily reach from Saint Martin.

    Lots of restaurants and shops, the port is very pretty. Carparking is very expensive unless you park at one about a 15 minute walk away - this was free though. In August the port/town is extremely busy, as is the whole island. Buses are very reasonably priced, e visited La Rochelle one day for €4.50 return. Also took a bus to beaches in the north of the island

    Beyond charming!

    Beyond charming! A stunning port town with great views, delightful little streets with beautiful shops. Just amazing. Absolutely captured my heart. Delicious local seafood practically everywhere and the most amazing ice cream at La Martinere - we visited every night. The covered market is pretty special. The port itself is lovely.

    This is an absolutely beautiful hotel. Incredibly stylish and comfortable. The location is fantastic, very central and close to all the restaurants and shops. Jérôme is a great host and is there for any questions or advice you need. Our room was really well laid out and could be in a magazine. Interior decorations overall are very imaginative and well sourced. We enjoyed reading and hanging out in the salon area. Very comfortable. We highly recommend.

    What an amazing hotel. The staff (especially Annabelle and Stephen on reception) were very friendly and welcoming and efficient. The place itself is an amazing old building right in the centre of town. I didn't use the pool but it looked nice. Breakfast was very good and the bar is cool. I'll definitely stay here again.

    A supernice hotel at the harbour with wonderful views. Comfortable and clean room and the staff was really friendly and welcoming. This hotel and the village Saint Martin is a must if you are visiting Ile de Re. Strong recommendation!
