Beautiful medieval town with quaint streets and a lovely farmers market while we were there. The chateau is worth a visit and you get beautiful views from the ramparts and across to the country side and river. Easy to walk everywhere as we were close to town. Chinon is a beautiful old mediaeval town by a large river. Extremely attractive with narrow streets and pretty squares. Lots of bars and restaurants. Lovely clean, modern facility (more of a bed & breakfast than what I would call a hotel). The host was really helpful & attentive. We had the last available room as it was a last minute booking & our host apologised for the size of the room, but it was absolutely fine for our needs. The hotel is within walking distance of a variety of great restaurants & Chinon is a lovely historic, picturesque town. Lots of rooms but it is like stepping back in time. Website shows modernised rooms but we were staying in an older room. Staff Ensured we didnt get our car towed away due to the market the next day. Centrally located, once parked up you can walk everywhere. We were so tired after a long drive that I slept well. We didnt stay for breakfast. Market is huge and outside the hotel.
