Beautiful medieval town with quaint streets and a lovely farmers market while we were there. The chateau is worth a visit and you get beautiful views from the ramparts and across to the country side and river. Easy to walk everywhere as we were close to town. Chinon is a beautiful old mediaeval town by a large river. Extremely attractive with narrow streets and pretty squares. Lots of bars and restaurants. Lovely clean, modern facility (more of a bed & breakfast than what I would call a hotel). The host was really helpful & attentive. We had the last available room as it was a last minute booking & our host apologised for the size of the room, but it was absolutely fine for our needs. The hotel is within walking distance of a variety of great restaurants & Chinon is a lovely historic, picturesque town. Maurice was welcoming, friendly and entertaining. Breakfast was exceptional, one of best of our trip. Room was beautifully presented and very comfortable. Parking was relatively easy beside the river a very short walk from the property and Maurice provides a parking permit so no need to pay for parking.
