Hervás is a centre for walking activities in the Ambroz Valley and is surrounded by forests and mountain ranges. The town itself has a modern part with all the usual amenities. However, the heart of Hervás is the historical Jewish Quarter that runs from one of the pretty squares down to the Ambroz River. This part is Medieval and very interesting and atmospheric. Hervás boasts an excellent book shop and many shops dedicated to local produce. There are good restaurants and coffee shops. Hervás is a lively and charming little historic town, located in an area of stunning natural beauty, and conveniently located for travellers who are heading along, or across, the Ruta de la Plata highway in western Spain, not too far from the border with Portugal, at any time of the year. The town itself is very pedestrian friendly, full of culture with great restaurants, bars, shops and a great collection of sculpture and paintings in the Museo Perez Comendador-Leroux. The locals are really welcoming, the food and wine are fantastic, and it's the kind of place that gets under your skin and keeps you coming back again!Guest review byJamesSpain - 10.0

Room was clean and ok, machine coffee in the room was actually rather good. Spa was 14 Euros extra (you can order with the room but it costs the same), some of it was ok. Lady at fromt desk spoke zero english and I have only basic spanish but she did make the effort and we could mostly communicate.
