A beautiful location.
A beautiful location. This is such a nice place because it is authentically Spanish which is the reason I visit Spain. Lovely tapas and a great variety of Soanisg restaurants. Aguilas is a very Spanish town, catering mostly for Spanish visitors. There are virtually no "tourist"restaurants, just Spanish ones that do not do sandwiches etc. Some of the cafes near the centre do such food, but they were a 30 minute walk from the hotel. Don't get me wrong, we ate very well at night, with a few "is this really what I ordered" moments related to our inability to read Spanish menus. Everything was great..... One think let's the town down...restaurants were of course very Spanish. We just thought they could offer more European dishes Our biggest disappointment was when asking for a menu they point at a QR code...we left several restaurants because of this ( so they lost good customes)....they should at least have some printed copies available...Guest review byfrankIreland - 8.0

It is an attractive resort with a great castle (the walk up is difficult and not recommended for those with mobility issues) and pleasant port and central area. I visited in low season (March) so it was quiet although all the bars and restaurants were open. There are only a few things to see or do in the town but the promenade walks are lovely with great views, The coastline is interesting for drives, best places nearby are the Castle at San juan de los Terreros and the odd beach at Los Cocedores. All the usual Spanish supermarkets are in the town but the one hypermarket Carrefour is below standard compared to others in Spain, and the attached mall is awful with virtually all the shops seemingly closed down and only one small cafe. Outside of the mall there are a Burger King and Popeyes, both really terrible and best avoided. There is an excellent Indian restaurant in San Juan de los Terroros (Tandoori Palace) just a few km south.Guest review byTonydelSpain

The two terraces with their breathtaking views made our stay fabulous. The house is located at the beach, and walking distance from big supermarket. A lovely 25 min walk to Aguilas city were you have plenty of restaurants. Was not a problem for us but note that there are a good few steps up to reach the house so take it into consideration if you have mobility problems. Breakfast was good value at €5 per person. The hotel staff were outstanding ~ very friendly and helpful with everything we questioned. Wi-Fi was excellent. The beach is a 5 minute walk.
