Sasbachwalden is a beautiful village in the foothills of the Black Forest. It is nestled in the middle of some of the finest vineyards of the Rhine Valley and is the home of the renowned Vintner's Coopérative, Winzergenossenschaft Alder Gott. The wines are pricey, but well worth the trip. Visitors should not miss the hike up the " Gaishölle" waterfalls (there is also the option to take a public bus to the top of the falls and hike down. Coming out at the top, hikers are rewarded with a bteathtaking panorama of the Rhine Valley and, depending on the time of day, gorgeous sunset over the Vosges mountains of France on the other side. A beautiful village surrounded by hills and vineyards. Great for hiking. There are many drinks stations with wine, beer, schnapps and soft drinks along the walking routes Lovely restaurants in the village. The staff were all very polite and helpful. There was a very good explanation of the facilities on arrival. The pool was open and there was a sauna for guest use. There is not a bar per se but an area where you can serve yourself drinks and pay later and coffee and tea available. The staff were incredibly nice and friendly, they even let us park our bikes safely behind the hotel, which we really appreciated. The room was clean and had a traditional design that gave it a cozy, local feel.
