It was great for eating and drinking - everything from cafes to restaurants. We came to eat fish and were well-pleased. Everything was an easy walk away. There are also 2 local stations and several bus lines with regular services. We did not have beach weather and were limited to walking. I would have been ok to leave again after 2 nights. If there is no weather for swimming, I find it a bit pointless in Travemünde and tiring to just go on walking excursions. Average age of travellers in Travemünde seems to be rather high. If you want to be among more young people, probably better to head to Timmendorfer Strand, about 5 kms to the North. Travemünde is great for ship-watching though. We like Travemünde because it is the closest access to seaside from Hamburg. It has beach, harbour, plenty of restaurants and hotels. Apart from the seaside, there are few special sites, so we think that 1-2 days are enough to explore the place.Guest review byAnonymousJapan
