A stunning village - for anyone interested in architecture it is worth taking the time to stroll the wide boulevards and check out the incredible houses, each different from the other. The beach is close by with a long paved promenade, deckchairs and many facilities. De Haan is a quiet and very picturesque town on the coast. The beach area is vast and deep; there is space for everyone and every activity. There are many offerings for every kind of tourist; sitting on the beach, walking, cycling, reading, etc….. Brugge is not far away for a day trip. Lovely sandy beachside town, friendly locals, great public transport especially the tram so easy to get to Ostend & Knokke-Heist. Fabulous bakeries !! We've been in the summer and winter as we have family living here. De Haan was lovely. It seems to be an upmarket seaside town. I imagine it would look amazing in the summer, although with the Christmas lights it was magical at this time of year. Not many options for restaurants and most were very expensive. Lovely beach, really wide and long. Great supermarket (Delhaize) for self catering. Easy transport along the coast using the tram. Very pretty and clean., tasteful resort. All low rise buildings. Great that the tram runs the length of the Belgian coast line. Lots of opportunities for cycling, walking.
