A relaxing destination with lovely views lovely restaurants and a wonderful cafe I enjoyed called Ginnys .Beautiful Raymond Island is a 3-minute Ferry Ride away to an island full of beautiful walking tracks, views and native Australian animals. Quiet town catering to Yachtees and Retirees. A destination, not a stopover, right in the middle of the Gippsland Lakes area. A much quiter "cousin" to Metung which is at the other end of Lake King. Also, much less "Touristy" and not as "Pricey". Quality accommodation is limited and often gets booked out, So book early in the busy season (Spring and Summer). Also a nice place to visit in Winter for that peaceful getaway and if you can find accommodation with a wood heater or open fireplace, all the better.Guest review byAus-TravellerAustralia - 8.0

Paynesville is quiet and a relaxing place to be.
Paynesville is quiet and a relaxing place to be. We had beautiful fish and chips on the beach and the walk around the foreshore after was great. The shops are few but all that you would need for a holiday. It is not a long drive to Bainsdale or Lakes Entrance if you need more. Dining out you have a few options, we went to the local Pub. Good meal, friendly staff. The atmosphere of Paynesville is most refreshing compared to city living.Guest review byBethAustralia - 10.0
