Don't expect to see several "hit tourist attractions" like Eiffel Tower, etc. Tiran is a city where you enjoy local dishes at clean restaurants, hospitality, smiling faces. You can visit several recommended places with historical and cultural importance. Traffic is better than I expected. Urban transport is easy as you can pay in the bus (no need to download an application or buy a card). You can spend a few days like the locals. I love the weather, the friendly people, their generosity and the amazing food which is reasonably priced, especially when eating in a restaurant serving local food. It is a happy place, full of amazing energy and surprises! It also feels very safe and very welcoming to foreigners! Mount Dajti is seen almost from everywhere you are in Tirana and it is very special seeing it from wherever you are in the city! Tirana is a typical busy capital city with horrific traffic jams and it's a case of crossing your fingers as you try to cross the road. Found a great cafe bar Noor which we highly recommend. The market in the square is very overpriced and there's constant banging music. Tirana is an exciting, rapidly improving city, with a lot of things to see, vivid culture, old, socialist, and modern architecture, but also many green spots, trees, parks. The best way to get around is walking, public transport is by bus, and you can get stuck in traffic. There are also city bikes, that could be useful. I feel like going back and exploring more places, other districts of the city, the Lake Park, the mountains around, the Dajti mountain for example. I stayed for 2 days and booked a half day bus tour to Bovilla Lake in advance.
