Akwaba lodge is located at the middle of Isla Solarte about a 10 minute boat ride ($10/person) from Bocas del Toro. It is on a hill overlooking the water and Isla Bastimentos Breakfast is included in your stay. Lunch dinner and beverages are available at a very reasonable price. The lodge is an eco style lodge surrounded by jungle. Though there are no hiking trails through the jungle you are serenaded by the sounds of birds. Kayaks, SUP and snorkeling equipment is available for your use. Your host and their children are wonderful and will do anything to make your stay a pleasant and wonderful experience. Things to know, the lodge is off the grid with good WiFi and does not have AC, but we were comfortable with our open windows and ceiling fan. The lodge accepts credit cards, but tours and water taxis are cash only so bring US dollars. Side trips to Red Frog Beach and Green Acres Chocolate are a must. Pack insect repellent and anti-itch cream.

The food was exquisite, super fresh and homemade. (Also great for vegetarians). The free use of kayaks and snorkelling gear was great, we even spotted a dolphin from the dock. The staff is super friendly and make you feel right at home without being intrusive.

The huts are very cozy and they have everything you need. Jen is the host of this accommodation and she lovingly takes care of her guests. There is a delicious breakfast and she helps you organize any activities you want to do. We will remember this accommodation for a long time.

We stayed in one of the over water thatched villas. We loved it. Great room, loved sitting out on the deck, brilliant addition having the open sided table where you can feed the fish. Really well organised. Lovely team. We had a brilliant few days.

Tout est bien, ici : l'emplacement, très à l'écart du bruit de Bocas, situé sur un promontoire avec une vue incroyable sur d'autres îles et la mangrove. Le bâtiment est ultra-moderne, très bien agencé avec des volumes conséquents. Le personnel a été vraiment adorable. La cuisine de Bernardino est savoureuse et authentique. Terrasse et petite piscine privées, ça ne nous était jamais arrivé !
