We have spent 6 summers in a row at Sunset Island. We love all that it has to offer and has such a nice family feel.

Located a short distance away from many of the main museums but within a lovely neighbourhood, with a wholefoods close by, and great bagel and coffee/beer spots. Added bonus with the swimming pool on the roof top for sunset hour and cooling off. Also the addition of a popular burger joint within the lobby area.

The breakfast was excellent, loved being able to choose from a variety. Would have preferred one more cereal option - there were a lot of kids cereals, cornflakes would have been good. Good location. The room was clean and the bathrooms were good, hot shower and good water pressure.

Chuck the Owner lives onsite, he and his family service the rooms. He was welcoming and kind during my stay and I would class him as a friend who’s property I would stay at again. Large room with spotless bathroom, ample towels, strong hot shower. Large bed with hundreds of pillows! Huge tv with never ending channels. Plenty of storage and hanging space for clothes. Location was easy to find, with plenty of safe well lit parking. Short walk to Walgreens & 7-11. Short drive to Several restaurants, MacDonalds, Starbucks, general stores.

As long as there are good links I stay away from downtown for better rates. Largo is a way out but the hotel is 5 mins walk from the excellent metro system and its only $13 for a one day pass. WIFI was great and room spacious and clean. Excellent hot shower. As my flight home was very late they kindly stored my bag and I went back later to collect it. The silver line goes all the way from Largo to Dulles with no changes. Apart from the note below was happy with the price

The location was perfect and what is great is that they have an outdoor pool, indoor pool and a bayside beach so you have options other than the ocean beach. The beds were also a big surprise in that they were memory foam and so comfy. Our room had a gorgeous balcony overlooking the bay and was just wonderful for sunsets. We were also able to sit outside as my daughter slept and enjoy the beautiful night. The kitchenette had literally everything we could have needed- even a full sized dishwasher!

Super clean, the room felt cosy and modernized and elegant. A lovely hotel on a really nice and safe street. Had a room with a view to an impressive skyline and incredible sunsets. Three convenience stores close by, and a mini shop downstairs with emergency supplies, a metro/subway line 3 minutes away and the Lincoln Memorial and White House approx 20 min walking distance. Staff were kind and attentive and helpful.

A typical airport hotel with a decent breakfast (cereal, bagels, hot food, etc). The rooms, although a bit tired were functional and there were coffee facilities, a microwave, fridge and couch. The TV was large and new. Lovely hot shower.
