Very welcoming and helpful family. They cooked us dinner, gave us lots of delicious cake, snacks and tea. They drove us to Horton plains by tuktuk and picked us up for a good price, helped us organizing, brought us to the train station for free. Room was clean and very nice.

What a absolute gem of a place hidden in the Jungle, the building is elegant and and as soon as you arrive you are met by the most professional, smiling, warm hosts we have had on our entire trip. Upon arriving we felt totally relaxed as our hosts arrived with umbrellas and took our luggage, when inside the property we were given a warm towel and our stay was explained to us by Eranda, his warm and kind demeanour made us feel like we were at home. The property only has 2 rooms in the main house and this means you are very very well looked after. Our main host was Charminder who was an absolute delight to have met, he was so professional, caring and nothing was too much for him, he makes amazing speciality cocktails and accommodated our ask for a takeaway lunch as we were hiking the next day, this came in a sustainable box and was freshly cooked food, that was still warm when we ate it some 5 hours later. Eranda knows everything about wildlife, in particular snakes and birds, on our hike we encountered 2 snakes and with photos Eranda explained that both were not poisonous and then went on to teach us what features poisonous snakes have so we left having learnt potentially life saving information. I can not recommend The Capoe House and the team enough, this was our best stay of our trip and would return in a heartbeat.

We visited Horton Plains and were looking for a place that felt safe, peaceful, and like home — and Tea Sprig Villa Boralanda was the perfect find! This is one of the newest and safest villas in the area, and from the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. We stayed for 2 nights, and what made this place even more special is that we were their very first guests — what an honor! 🙏 The family running the villa is super friendly, warm, and caring. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and made with so much love. The clean fresh air, hot water, and beautiful surroundings made us feel like we were in heaven. This place is quiet, clean, and perfect for anyone looking to relax and recharge. We’re so grateful for the hospitality and unforgettable experience. We will definitely come again. This a super cool experience. Speed dating cooking class. Delicious food. Smiley and welcoming Meena. The tea tasting was fascinating. We make wine for a living so into tasting generally. Fun to do a blind tasting having tasted the line up. Everyone who works there are super friendly and kind. Lovely sound of water rushing down the valley. Cosy blanket on the bed.

Bambara Ella Agro Resort and Camping Tony and I (from the UK) visited this location, and it is breathtakingly beautiful. Bambarakanda is surrounded by 25-acre hills covered with trees and vines. A stream of clean water flows around the property. There are thousands of birds around, and the area is designed in an environmentally friendly manner. In the center of the paddy field are five naturally arranged cabanas with all amenities. Tree plantations and organic crop fields can be found everywhere. In addition to the cabanas, there is a facility with approximately six modern rooms. The employees are extremely nice, and we will never forget the treats they gave us. We can prepare both local and western dishes as needed. The flavor of the food surprised us. They instantly prepare Sri Lankan dishes such as hoppers and string hoppers. There are no words to express how we were treated by the staff, including Chamara and Sathsara. If you are an environmentalist or a bird watcher, this is the place for you. We had a good time at night with the bonfire and Karaoke music. We had a great time beyond our expectations. A must-visit destination. Highly recommended.

    The location within the tea plantations is perfect with a breathtaking view down to the plains. The staff is friendly and helpful and the food is great. Rooms are spacious and very clean with a wonderful view from the bed. The owners organise a Tuk-Tuk for a whole day for a reasonable price. We started our trip to Horton Plains very early (5:45) and were provided with breakfast boxes. The owner takes ecology protection seriously, no plastic bottles or plastic bags are being provided.

    Beautiful location with the most amazing view! The staff were very helpful and we had nice lunch and dinner. Beautiful area to walk! They arranged tuktuk transport for us to Horton plains at 6am in the morning. Definetely recommendable stay!

    Amazing homestay, very nice and helpful family. The room was very clean and comfortable. The location is very close to the Horton Plains, family helped us arrange a tuktuk at 6:30 am to get there. They also cooked us two delicious dinners and even helped to take care of my boyfriend’s sprained ankle.

    Everything. Perfect location. Very close to Horton plains. Beautiful view of the sunrise from the garden. They take care of animals, which is a big plus. Very nice hosts, if you get up early at Horton Plains, they prepare a delicious takeaway breakfast. Dinners are also delicious, typical Sri Lankan cuisine. The room was very clean, very well equipped. The best stay in Sri Lanka and we were in many places for a month. Perfect!
