My partner found the perfect apartment for our getaway, and traveling all the way from New Zealand to Uruguay, we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. From the moment we confirmed our booking, Patricia reached out promptly with detailed instructions, setting the tone for an exceptional experience. Despite our trip being delayed due to heavy rain and rough weather, Patricia went above and beyond. She arranged for us to access the apartment easily and respected our need for rest after the long journey. The apartment itself was stunning—spacious, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully designed. It featured a large, comfortable bed, a well-equipped kitchen, and a fantastic balcony with a barbecue and sitting area. The deluge showerhead added a touch of luxury to an already wonderful space. Patricia was the perfect host—kind, attentive, and never overbearing. She allowed us to fully enjoy the apartment and explore the charming township without any hassle. Cabaña Mara is an absolute dream! The house is beautifully located among trees that provide shade, and Mara, the hostess, has planted beautiful flowers in the garden. Everything was spotless clean inside and nicely decorated with attention to detail. The kitchen is fully equipped and the whole house had nets on the windows for protection against mosquitos. The beaches nearby are marvellous and La Paloma has everything one needs (super market, pharmacy, bank, etc.). Would love to return to this place :)

Well-equipped luxury cabins 100 meters from the beach The three stilt cabins, known as Marasaias, are a brilliant place to spend short or long beach vacations. And Roy is a really sweet, thoughtful, and helpful host. The cabins are small but extremely well-equipped, making it feel like living in a much larger house. This is also thanks to the large terrace with beach chairs, hammock, grill, and sea view - it's like having an extra room. EVERYTHING works and is made of good materials and with good taste. A plus is that the entire cabin runs on renewable energy, and there is waste sorting for recycling. Yes, even the wifi works well. If you want to take a bike ride, for example, to La Pedrera to shop, Roy is happy to lend a couple of bikes. He also picks up and drops off you and your belongings at the station if you come by bus (a good 3 hours from Montevideo). Right below the cabins lives a super nice shrimp fisherman. You can buy large, delicious shrimp from him for very little money. As you can see in the pictures, we ate many grilled steaks and large dishes of freshly boiled shrimp on the terrace. The beautiful sandy beach 100 meters down the road is a wonderful place to sunbathe and chill. The Atlantic Ocean is harsh, but with a little care, you can also easily swim. We will miss both Marasaias and Roy with the big heart.
