J-Hoppers Kumano Yunomine Guesthouse is situated in Hongu, a 10-minute drive away or a 70-minute walk on the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Route from Kumano Hongu Taisha Grand Shrine.

This guesthouse is located along one of the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Routes and Yunomine Hot Spring, said to be one of the oldest hot springs baths in Japan, is a 5-minute walk from the property. This was the best value for money stay I had this trip. Highly recommend opting for dinner to be included with your stay. The steamed vegetables and meat with rice and soup was a sumptuous, healthy yet delicious meal especially at the end of a day's big hike. The dorm beds were comfortable, and it was a really nice luxury to get a private onsen experience (especially the outdoor one). Though there was no convenience store around, the hostel has a very good range of snacks, instant noodles, buns at good prices so you don't have to worry about not having food around.

Located just 1.3 km from Oka Park, Guesthouse RICO offers accommodation in Wakayama with access to a bar, a shared lounge, as well as a housekeeping service. Heisogen Park is 13 km from the guest house and Saki-no-Yu Onsen Spa is 13 km away. All the basic facilities were provided more than sufficiently. Everything from the room to bathroom to kitchen to laundry room was clean and functional. Above that, Mayumi-san's personal touches ensured that our stay in Tanabe will stand out in our memory.

The house itself is beautiful Japanese classic house, however all facilities are modern and clean!!! Down town and Hayatama shrine are located in really walkable distance from the guest house.

NONAGASE GUEST HOUSE, a property with a garden, is situated in Chikatsuyu, 300 metres from Kumanokodo Nakahechi Museum of Art, 29 km from Kamitonda Concert Hall, as well as 31 km from Hosshinmon Oji Shrine. There is an in-house restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. Tokei Shrine is 35 km from the guest house and Shirahama Art Museum is 41 km away. The food was the best that I had on my trip, they had Japanese cuisine mixed with Italian techniques, the drinks were also great. The staff was really helpful and friendly. The vibes of the room and the whole house were unique. Plus, if you are doing the Kumano Kodo, Nonagase Guest House is right on the path and so you don't have to take a detour and the nearest shop is like a 10 minute walk.

簡易宿所　ふくろく is located in Shingu, less than 1 km from Kamikura Shrine, a 13-minute walk from Shingu Castle Ruins Park, as well as 1.4 km from Kumano Hayatama Taisha. It is situated 13 km from Fudarakusanji Temple and features luggage storage space. The guest house provides rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. the room was really comfy and cozy with basic amenities provided for you. the owner of the guesthouse was really friendly and helpful during the stay. do mind that she has to run a small shop selling Japanese snacks while having other heavy responsibilities. do support her.

Accommodation is fitted with air conditioning, a fully equipped kitchen, a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with bidet, slippers and a hair dryer. A fridge and kettle are also provided. At the guest house, all units have bed linen and towels. It’s a self-contained 1-room apartment, complete with kitchen and shower-room. All modern. Beautiful clean tatami floor and comfortable futons. Amazingly, as an extra welcome, the kitchen is stocked with a selection of local drinks (including Wakayama-produced saké). The owner met us on arrival, explained everything clearly. All in all, if i come back to Shingu i will definitely want to stay here again.

200 metres from Kumanokodo Nakahechi Museum of Art, 民宿 和合 Minshuku WAGO is a recently renovated property set in Tanabe and offers air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. It is located 29 km from Kamitonda Concert Hall and features full-day security. The guest house has parking on-site, a hot tub and a shared kitchen. Very convenient stop along the Kumano-Kodo route. We brought our own food for dinner and the host set up a nice table outside for us. Everything was very clean and the host is really nice.

Situated just 2.9 km from Ojigahama Beach, AJITO Hostel & CafeBar provides accommodation in Shingu with access to free bikes, a bar, as well as full-day security. It is located 500 metres from Shingu Castle Ruins Park and offers private check-in and check-out. The guest house features rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. It’s elegantly decorated and the host provides everything.

Set in Shirahama and only 600 metres from Shirarahama Beach, B&B Sampark offers accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. It is located 1.2 km from Heisogen Park and features full-day security. The property is non-smoking and is situated 1.1 km from Kishu Museum of Art.

Guests at the bed and breakfast can make the most of yoga classes offered in-house. Guests at B&B Sampark will be able to enjoy activities in and around Shirahama, like cycling. This is a great place to stay. The hosts are delightful - they are helpful and friendly and also speak enough English to make everything smooth. Breakfast was quite special, and different, every day. The location is very convenient - a short walk from Fisherman's Wharf but in a quiet street. I think the rooms themselves are nicer than in the pictures - I expected a small bedroom but ours was actually quite spacious with a seating area, storage space and a bathroom sink. The whole place is quite stylish.
