There is selection of cold drinks you can buy as well. You can get a yukata and some travel items for free (ear plugs, razors etc). Room was clean and comfortable. Very nice coffee and fresh bread in the morning. I used private bath and it was a very nice experience. If you are traveling with child you will feel comfortable here as well. I would highly recommend this place to other travelers.

His English is really good and his sense of humour even better. His knowledge of the area and itinerary suggestions worked very well for us. We’d highly recommend the local izakaya 800m from his place.

We had the loveliest time at the Gableview Forest Inn. Satoshi and Elizabeth are so kind and helped us out hugely during our stay. Satoshi is an AMAZING cook. The food was incredible, so I definitely recommend having dinner at the inn! The room was super comfortable, it was great to have our own little kotatsu and the baths at the inn (both inside and the outside one with the forest view) were divine. If we are ever back in Nikko/Japan we will definitely stay again!

The place itself is stunning, and in the evening it reaches an almost unreal sense of calm. Being by the lake as the sun was setting was an extraordinary experience. It’s definitely worth staying at least one night (but ideally more—there’s so much to do, especially for those who love nature and hiking). The guesthouse is very comfortable and extremely clean, even in the shared areas. There is great attention to detail. The staff were incredibly kind and truly helpful. A wonderful place.

The 2-star bed and breakfast features river views and is 3.8 km from Tobu Nikko Station. Every room comes with a balcony. Everything from the start to the end of our stay was perfect. Izumi picked us up at the train station and has made great breakfast. The B&B is lovely in a calm environment. The bus stop is only 10 min by walk to go to the mountain or city center. I recommend totally this place and the warm welcome from the host.
