Laylaa was on her own in charge for our first day and couldn't have been more helpful, attentive and pleasant. Her pre arrival information was excellent. The dinners and breakfasts prepared by Patricia were excellent. The trails are superb in so much as there are several to suit all levels of ability and fitness, however all encompass the most stunning views of the surrounding Swartberg mountains.

The room was very clean spacious and comfortable it was one of the Karoo Life cottages. Superb hosts and fabulous boxer dog called Liffey. We ate at the guest house in the evening on the stoep and the food was excellent. Lovely friendly atmosphere with other guests. Excellent breakfast - the largest fruit salad yogurt and museli I’ve ever encountered! My husband’s full English was also excellent.

It is easy to give a good review when things go perfectly, but it is when things don't go smoothly and the property owner makes an exceptional effort to put things right, that reviews really matter. I turned up to my booking to find the property unattended. Short of time, I booked somewhere else. Booking.com doesn't allow immediate cancellation, even though it is obvious that no one needs two different stays on the same night! The owner was very communicative and understanding and worked hard to help process the refund. To me, this is the mark of an exceptional and responsible property owner.
