Comfortable (and big) bed, homely room and superb breakfast! The breakfast Was tasty and plentiful and the host makes his own sausages which were amazing. Hostess makes her own jams and marmalades, which are also available to buy (we did). This place isn't posh or modern, but it is comfortable, clean and friendly. We had a great stay. This guest house is in an ideal position to access various parts of the town on foot, yet is a nice quiet road (we stayed on a Saturday night). There is free parking outside from 6pm, and from 9am, you have 2 hours before traffic warden comes round, so 11am - ideal! The hosts are really friendly and helpful, with great advice on good places to eat locally. We will be returning.

A character property in a beautiful location. Quiet and peaceful with excellent facilities. Alison and David and experience hosts and nothing was too much trouble. We couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Excellent B&B. By far the BEST B&B we have ever stayed at. Location in rual Devon was great. Their building, the lounge, the breakfast room and our room was exceptional. Our hosts were lovely, very helpful and delivered the highest level of service you could expect. Regarding the breakfasts, they were outstanding. They were the meal we most looked forward to each day. Our compliments to the chef! The gardens on the property were lovely with the most outstanding views you could ask for. It was such a delight to stay here. Highly recommend. A well earned 5 STAR rating!

The location was perfect opposite the village car park with a donation charge of 50p. The accommodation was perfect with all the expected facilities and more. The pub and accommodation were both immaculately clean and the staff so friendly and helpful. Would definitely choose to stay again if visiting the area.

Exceptionally clean, spacious and comfortable room. The ensuite was enormous with large walk in shower and separate roll top bath. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. Situated in the village so walking distance to cafes and very good local restaurant.

I can do no better than endorse another review which said "We stayed overnight the beds were really comfortable and we had a great nights sleep, we went in the bar for a meal and we could not fault it. I had the steak and ale pie the steak just melted in my mouth and so lean, the staff are so friendly and welcoming, the breakfast was spot on and cooked to perfection even had black pudding, we would recommend this lovely pub/ B&B and will definitely stay again, also dog friendly." We stayed 5 nights. The countryside round about is beautiful and places like the Grand Western Canal and Knighthayes are well worth visiting.
