A fantastic restaurant in the nearby forest (Les Closeaux - Restaurant & Gitesnature). The accommodation is ideal for a stay of several days to visit the nearby castles! We stayed here for 4 nights and would gladly return if coming to this area again. Madame Isabelle met us with a big smile and it was still there every day. The rooms were large, as big as some apartments. There was a small lounge/ kitchen area with frig. and kettle and a large lounge/diner big enough for 4 to 6. There were many magazines to read - obviously in French - tourist leaflets and advice on distances to a number of sites. Breakfast was good, just what we wanted, but we could have had more. We had a simple meal on our last day and it was delicious, with a glass of rosé as a gift. Mme. Isabelle was always available but never in the way!! A fount of knowledge and a most pleasant hostess. It was a short drive to the city and we found Parking Les Tanneurs very useful. It was a 3 minute walk to the town centre and it was free!!! There are plenty of restaurants just below the chateau and we used these. We found everybody we met extremely helpful. I have heart and back problems and used a stroller. If we came to steps very often people carried the chair up. A great help! As you can image we were very grateful. Obviously Mme Isabelle's charisma had spread to the locality.

MAISON CHEMIN What a great place! Cédric and his family run a very charming property. All the bedrooms and commun areas are brand new, very Confortable and clean. In the bedrooms, the bed is like heaven and we find some sweet kindness, as a teapot with some Herbs harvested in the garden. The bathroom is huge with soft and big towels. The breakfast is very good, whose high point is the rose homemade yogurt. The guest can use the kitchen (complete with all you can possible imagine) to cook. Besides the house itself is very charming and comfy, they have installed a few days ago a swimming pool, which is very welcoming in the summer hot days. And finally Cedric’s family is very kind and helpful. All these make a stay in Maison Chemin a great experience for those who want to explore the Loire Valley.

Lovely good sized modern bedroom and bathroom in the old mill house ,greeted by the owners who were very helpful in finding a restaurant in the nearby village for dinner . Surrounding garden, just beautiful with stream running through it. Very quiet. Delicious breakfast in their delightful kitchen made by the lady of the house. Near to various Chateaux.

Our overnight stay with Fabrice and Thierry was nothing short of delightful. They are incredibly welcoming and warm whilst in the background so attentive to detail in their hospitality. Maison Leonard itself is exceptional as a property: very tastefully renovated but the quiet luxury of the furnishings down to the Baccarat coffee cups in the room shows such care. A simple but delicious evening meal at €29 per person accompanied by an excellent wine list was so relaxing and appreciated. The garden is fantastic and we loved Ludwig, the Weimeraner’s, company. Faultless and have already recommended to friends.
