Wow, what a fantastic experience we had for 2 full weeks! The River Suites really lives its motto: Stay-dine-unwind! and we really did! the room, the breakfast , the pool area, direct access to the beach is all excellent: the restaurant outdid itself: if you stay, try the Cretan Linguini with Shrimp! But none of the excellence would have been possible without the spectacular staff: Manos, Panos, Valisis, Miranda, Mania, Michalis, Stella, Giorgios, Angelos, Angela, Kosmas, Evangelia, Vasia, Petrus, Dimitris, Alex and Aris thank you all for creating the welcoming and fantastic experience you all gave us! The service was top notch. Everyone was helpful and answered any requests we had. We had half board and though previous comments said that the food was not good, I beg to differ. The breakfast was ample with lots of buffet options (hot and cold) as well as the menu (you could order omelets, and other items off the menu). Frappes and Fredo espressos were not problem. The setting at breakfast was beautiful overlooking the pool and ocean. One of the previous comments said that there weren't any Greek offerings at dinner. Being Greek-American, I thought the inclusive dinner options did a great job with an overall selection to appeal to everyone as well as classic Greek and Cretan options. Obviously, if one truly wants a true Cretan dining experience, then I recommend eating off property, but we ate both nights we stayed at the resort, and we all greatly enjoyed. I've been to many all-inclusive hotels in Mexico and the Caribbean and the food and drinks at this establishment were the best we've had. The hotel manager was always present, making rounds ensuring people were enjoying their stay. In fact, our son celebrated his birthday one night and the hotel staff provided a dairy-free cake (he's allergic to dairy) for his bday complete with candles! Lastly, the resort is beautifully and tastefully decorated. I greatly enjoyed walking around, taking in all the sights. The designers did an exceptional job making it feel very Greek island-esque with every nook and cranny having artwork or decorations.

We had such an amazing stay! The location is so beautiful. The 3 bedroom Villa was amazing - so spacious and beautiful. The outdoor area is amazing and such a nice place to sit and relax as a family. Breakfast was amazing!! The staff were great! We loved the restaurants and the walk into town

A beautiful apartment with a stunning terrace :) The best thing about this apartment is it's terrace, both spacious, well oriented (east), big, with a beautiful bay view. We enjoyed having morning coffee and evening dinner & wine (provided by the host, thank you!) on it. Apartment is spacious, as pictured, located few minutes walk from a city center and has everything that you need just in front of it. Kitchen is very well equipped and ready for cooking meals. Small pebble beach with crystal clear water? In front of the apartment. Restaurant? In front of the apartment. Don't worry, it's open till from noon to 22h and there is no noise or food smell. Mini market? Next to the apartment. Free street parking? In front of the apartment. Keep in mind, this means there is traffic noise, but nothing significant. We didn't plan to stay in Agios Nikolaos, we planned Rethymno or Chania, but seeing this apartment made us go there. The best thing is that it didn't dissapoint, on the contrary!

Perfect place to stay in Agios Nikolaos! Easy walking to lake and beach. The apartment was beautiful and provided privacy for each couple.
