The apartments are beautiful, better than the photos. We had one of the ones with a balcony which had a nice view and where we enjoyed some wonderful sunsets. The apartments are spacious, clean, well planned and comfortable. The pool and other facilities are also first class. We were always able to get a sun bed and there were always plenty of towels available. We have never had a better quality apartment and I would enthusiastically recommend Vila Santa Catarina to others including anyone looking for a long stay rental. The only thing I would mention is that the walk up from the town is uphill. We are both in our seventies and managed this most days but we also took the subway from the centre to Marqués station from where you have a five minute walk downhill. (The number 4 line from Marqués goes direct to Gaia) Breakfast was a very pleasant surprise, beautifully presented with a great selection that varied daily. It was delivered to the room at 8 and we were able to enjoy it either on the balcony or indoors. Much more relaxed than a hotel buffet and easier than making ourselves. Finally I must mention how wonderful and friendly all the staff are. Really the cherry on the cake.

The room was really stylish and comfortable. There was a nicely stocked kitchenette that allowed us to not have to eat out for every meal. The location was really great. It was an easy walk to ask the city's highlights and less than two blocks to the metro station for easy access to the airport, bus station or other parts of the city. The staff was really helpful and provided both information and recommendations. We would definitely stay here again!
