Free private parking is available and the holiday home also provides car hire for guests who want to explore the surrounding area. Traveling all the way from Oslo to Tromsø, this is by far the best cabin I’ve stayed in throughout Norway! The room was cozy, and the amenities were excellent. I particularly appreciated having both a traditional coffee maker and a capsule coffee machine – such a thoughtful touch. The bed and duvet were incredibly comfortable, making it a perfect place to relax after a long day. Plus, there’s a supermarket just a 5-minute drive away, which was super convenient. The little snowy yard in front of the cabin was picturesque, especially with the view of the yellow house across and the mountains in the background – it felt so romantic. And to top it all off, we saw the northern lights three nights in a row! The host’s service was impeccable. They reminded us of the supermarket closing hours and even let us know when the northern lights appeared – how amazing is that! The only minor issue was the water heater. It seemed to be shared with the upstairs unit, as the hot water ran out mid-shower once. But since the room itself was so warm and cozy, it didn’t bother me much. I would absolutely love to come back and stay here for a longer time!

Whether we were enjoying breakfast or simply reading by the window, the calming scenery made every moment special.
The house was spotlessly clean, and the beds were exceptionally comfortable - perfect for a restful night's sleep. One of the highlights was definitely the floating sauna, which provided a relaxing and memorable experience, unlike anything we've tried before.

The location is incredible - a beautiful and quiet spot. The sauna is otherworldly and is an experience we will remember for the rest of our lives. The facilities at Kalle i Lofoten are fantastic - and many are included in the cost. We loved our accommodation and our stay.
Unique experience to stay in iconic accommodation. Lovely views. Room had everything we needed.
Perfect location, fabulous accommodations and great friendly owners who gave me lots of tips while traveling through. highly enjoyed and will be back!
Very clean and tidy. Basic accomodation was perfect for my needs. I arrived late and they were very accomodating. After my stay a few days later they allowed me to store a bag there for a day too. Really impressed.
Everything. It is a hostel rather than a hotel, a school with accommodation that is used for tourism during the holidays. My review is based on expectations for hostel accommodation. It is better than some hotels we have stayed in in Norway. The staff were welcoming and pleasant, the room had a lovely view and was spacious, the breakfast was one of the best.
Rooms are actually small but very cosy and very clean. Despite the fact that you have to share bathrooms (there are 4) the stay in this accommodation is surprisingly quite nice. Also bathrooms facilities were cleaned regularly (no problem there). The food served in the restaurant is very good/excellent.
Not your usual accommodation on Lofoten, The Tide is in a modern building overlooking the harbour. It was very comfortable - we had an excellent room on the corner, with dual aspect, so could sit and watch the comings and goings outside. Very good staff and great food offer both at breakfast and in the evening. Would definitely stay here again, if we are ever lucky enough to pass this way again.
I recently stayed at Rate Lofoten Planet BaseCamp for a two-night getaway, and it was a memorable experience. The location was absolutely stunning, nestled amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Lofoten. The cozy accommodations and friendly staff made me feel right at home.
