The property itself was immaculate! Huge common area, very large and nice kitchen, an outdoor terrance overlooking a river down below, and onsite Onsen (both indoor and outdoor!). The lady working reception was incredible. She was very helpful with an foot injury I had and I don't know what I would on done without her help. Hostel is immaculate! It takes about 45 minutes by subway or bus to the actual town of Nikko. If you plan on visiting Tobu World Square or any of the hiking/waterfalls north of the town, it is perfect! You get a real mountain town feel being outside of the city center.

It’s a gorgeous little hotel, with a cozy mountain-like atmosphere and all the amenities you may need! The taxi from the station wasn’t too bad, and if you feel like walking, you can reach the city center in half an hour. Loved the family-style place, the organization, breakfast, how everything is super well-explained with pictures and videos…it was completely worth it and I’d definitely stay there again.

His English is really good and his sense of humour even better. His knowledge of the area and itinerary suggestions worked very well for us. We’d highly recommend the local izakaya 800m from his place.
