The property was very cosy, it was a lovely experience to stay in an original ryokan, and have a quiet time in the onsen. A free shuttle is available from Yudanaka Train Station, which is a 5-minute drive away. We LOVED our stay. The owners and friendly, kind, helpful and welcoming. Our room was large with a private wash closet. (Shower room is common). They picked us up and dropped us to the train, took us up to the snow monkeys and offered suggestions and advice about locations in town. They are always kind and we were happy to run into them in the hallways and say hello. They have male and woman baths and a private osen also available. You can place your order a traditional breakfast in advance of the morning if you want one. They have a map of the local area with recommendations for food. We really enjoyed our stay.

The traditional rooms have Japanese-style futon bedding on a tatami (woven-straw) floor. Owners and staff are extremely pleasant and kind. Onsens were wonderful. We booked a Japanese room and it was huge! And the free shuttle from station and to snow monkey park was an added bonus!
