They had a cancellation for a suite the night we got there so they gave us an upgrade free of charge. I got a delicious, special vegan breakfast (aswell as a regular breakfast for my boyfriend) served to our doorstep in the morning. The hotel is a quick 10min taxi away from the Hirosaki park & castle. The staff and owner were extremely kind to us, we would highly recommend staying here and would love to come back again!

This is a traditional Japanese ryokan with public baths (gender separated). Dinner and breakfast are amazing and plentiful, with locally sourced organic produce (even coffee!). Our room (Japanese room with private toilet) was to the left of the entrance. It was very spacious. The heater worked very well as autumn night was a bit damp and cold. The beds are futons on wood bed frames on tatami, and they are super comfortable. As I have a whole-leg tattoo which is usually not permitted in the public baths, I notified Ranko in advance, and she reserved the private bath for us. The private bath was a very beautiful blue ceramic bath filled with warm (I don’t think it’s very hot) healing hot spring water from the area. Ranko’s warm personality really made the stay memorable. Be sure to ask her for recommendations of the areas. She is a well of knowledge of the area!

Their house told a story, filled with warmth, history, and the little personal touches that made it feel lived-in and loved. From the amazing homemade breakfast to the delicious ramen dinners they prepared, every meal was made with care and love. The guest house is conveniently located, just a short walk from a supermarket and a laundromat, which made things really easy for us. This personal, welcoming experience truly made our trip special. The house itself was well-equipped and cozy, offering a perfect retreat after our daily adventures. We especially appreciated how it preserved the traditional Japanese aesthetic while ensuring all the essentials were available. We highly recommend Nao’s place to anyone visiting Aomori—whether you're traveling as a couple, with family, or solo. It’s a perfect blend of hospitality, comfort, and cultural charm.
