The room and view were excellent, as were the staff. The food was out of this world. I would also mention that there was no sound at all making a very peaceful and relaxing get away. Highly recommended if you want tranquility.

Nice and spacious apartment with AC in the living room (if you leave all the doors closed but the bedroom one, the AC will cool it down as well). All the amenities needed (coffee machine, washing machine, microwave, toaster, oven, electric and gas cooker etc...). The lady was lovely, and the area was lovely and quiet with a beautiful view from the balcony. Very quick to respond to any of our questions, we even locked ourselves out at 9 pm, and they were at the place to unlock the door for us within 10min. Highly recommend 👌

The cottage is located just below the walls of Monsaraz village so very close, so ideal. There are quite a few cafes and restaurants in the village and especially Xarez was really good. It has everything you need and the owner allows dogs. It has a fantastic little terrace/balcony.

Wow, what a gem of a hotel. This is a truly spectacular property that exceeded even our high expectations. The staff and service were fantastic and the place gives you an immediate sense of calm. The surroundings are absolutely stunning. What we also appreciated was that the food, drinks and activities were not overpriced, so you left feeling like you were not taken advantage of, which can be the case for a lot of high end hotels. The food was delicious and in beautiful settings.

Everything was excellent from the friendly welcome to the superb breakfast every moning. Great location for visiting Monsaraz and Alqueva river beaches. The house itself is very interesting , loved the rustic style decor too. Would definitely stay here again.

We have just had the most wonderful, relaxing holiday at Hotel Horta da Moura. The hotel is lovely and welcoming, set in acres of ancient olive and citrus trees within a beautiful landscape. Flavia and all the staff were so helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make our holiday special. Our room was extremely spacious, clean and well equipped. The breakfast was excellent, I was especially grateful for having a gluten-free treat presented every morning! Swimming in the infinity pool bathed in the scents of citrus and cyprus will sustain me through the winter! There is much to see and do, with plenty of good restaurants a short drive away. We fell in love with the region of Alentejo and I am sure we will return soon to Horta da Moura. Thank you!

A lovely property within the walled town of beautiful Monsaraz. Stunning views from the rooftop terrace - a great spot for watching the sun set. The pool is small but a very welcome addition over the hot summer months. The room was small but comfortable, comfy bed and lovely homemade breakfast. A lovely place to stay!

From the moment we arrived, we were overwhelmed by the warmth and hospitality of the hotel team. The attention to detail throughout our stay was remarkable, making us feel both pampered and at home. The house and rooms were spacious and well-kept, with a traditional style. Breakfast has enough variety to keep you satisfied. The staff was always cheerful and lovely. There's a very nice swimming pool, especially useful in the heat of Alentejo. Last but not least, the property (and the room we stayed in) offers a great view of the castle town of Monsaraz. Guests were in general quiet and civilized, this is a great place for relaxing. You will need a car or some other private form of transport to move around the area.

Fantastic staff from check-in throughout our stay - cheerful, helpful, attentive really first class. The setting itself close to Monsaraz but with pleasant open grounds and a huge pool , one of two so an ideal retreat after a day's tourism. Comfortable , very clean room pleasantly cool in spite of July temperature no need for air-con. Breakfast good with pleasant service.

Breakfast was the same for our five night stay but still good every day. The whole place was intriguing. Rooms comfortable and the en suite was ‘ very Portuguese’! The roof terrace could have done with some comfortable chairs to lounge on as well worth spending time up there, views amazing. Monsaraz is a must.

Beautiful property with the most amazing decor. All the details were well thought through. Top comfort beds and linen, beautiful accommodations, fantastic common areas, great staff. There are not enough superlatives to describe São Lourenço do Barrocal. On a one to ten scale, they would be eleven!
