Very friendly staff, amazing breakfast and great service. The room felt clean and fresh, with big windows. Very comfortable bed as well. The stairs between floors are steep and narrow but there is an elevator. Sky room (top floor) is the only one not accessible by elevator, but it has a nice view over the rooftops.

The room was really cool! Nice big room with big bed and lovely bathroom with a bath and shower and plenty of room in it. The location is brilliant! It's about 15 minutes walk from the centre but is in its own little area with lots of bars and restaurants and is very close to the canal. I loved walking in and out of the main city as the walk is along a canal in a very pleasant part of the town.

Wonderful location but be mindful it does get noisy at night. The facilities were very good, bathroom and shower were very clean. John was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Johanna is such a nice and interesting person! She made us feel super comfortable and was always checking if everything was okay with our stay. The breakfast was perfect, the room was big, clean and comfortable and Johanna made us feel at home, also suggesting places to see and to visit. The house is super central, you can walk to the city centre and has a lot of restaurants and cafes around.

Splendid apartment, great view of the canal, well equipped and friendly host. Apartment is exactly as beautiful as the pictures (which is not commonly the case 😃) You have all amenities needed at your disposal. Supermarkets, bakeries, cafes and canals right at your doorstep. A short walk from the center, so it's right there but still calm and away from noise. 20 mins walk to Central station. Checkin and checkout is via a digital app, hosts are very helpful (in case you are not very techy). They were so kind to give us a late checkout, on our last day as our train from Amsterdam was late afternoon. Everything that could make your trip memorable.

It has everything, a great breakfast, a vast property and garden, sitting out, cuisine, an atmospheric bar and lounge, and wonderful staff. We stayed in the Roman wing, where the rooms are cozy and comfortable. An important reason for returning to Utrecht for a holiday is to stay at the Karel V.

Great accommodation in the heart of Utrecht. Easy to find, safe area, friendly and helpful staff. Everything you need for a short stay. Clean bathroom, comfy bed, can hire a bike, get food in the restaurant. Was perfect for my few nights in Utrecht. Would highly recommend and most definitely stay again.

The location was unbelievable. Very Central to lots of restaurants and sights. The room was lovely and had everything we needed and very clean. The host John was very kind and helpful. I would go as far to say, it is the best accommodation I have stayed in.

We stayed in the cellar accommodation which was such a different experience and amazing I would highly recommend it ,you have your own entrance underneath the hotel, so you have to be ok with locking up , which we were and it was nice and dark fir a sleep in

Such a great place to stay to explore Utrecht, we loved our room, so stylish and comfortable, the roof terrace was a lovely feature. The bed was comfortable. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. We stayed here as couple for our 1 year anniversary and booked the King Suite. This suite is separate from the hotel but is located at the waterfront. It was a really amazing experience and the suite was absolutely beautiful. A really comfortable bed with amazing en-suite. One of the most unique accommodations I ever stayed in. We definitely come back!
