We had the most wonderful stay at La Isla Dulce- the best hostel we have ever stayed at. The owners, Daria and Douglas, made us feel right at home from the beginning. The food prepared by Daria and the local women was delicious and made with a lot of love. Douglas went out of his way to organize boat and bus transfer back to Guatemala City for us. And the house we stayed in was breathtaking- beautifully designed, with gorgeous furniture, amazing bed, and a beautiful view of the lake. I sincerely hope we can come back and visit again.

Spacious room and bathroom, beautiful balcony. The best part about the stay however was the owner, Stuart. He is one of the friendliest and most helpful hosts I have come across. He arranged all our activities and onwards journey at a good price. 10/10 would stay here again!

Peaceful and calm place with wooden cabanas and hammocks. Very good to relax from roads of Guatemala. Staff is always ready to help.

Loved the room, loved the view and the balcony even more, and the 25 meter pool was absolutely incredible because we struggle to get any cardio done in the heat. Added bonus is that it was a bird paradise so it was kind of like swimming and birding at the same time :)

The staff was so friendly they helped us woth our transport to El Salvador. The room and also the pool were amazing we wisj we could have stayed longer. Definetly recommending this hotel a 100%.

The best reason for staying here is the manager, Giovanni. He is a bilingual jewel. Great with arranging trips up the Rio Dulce but even more describing the history of the area.

The place is very beautiful and relaxing. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is good. Too bad we didn't have more days to stay there.

Loved how much wildlife was around! Tim & Alejandra are phenomenal hosts! The hammocks are great too! The tours they offer are top as well!

When we arrived we felt like at home. All of their workers there are super nice, have a nice smile and they make everything happen that you feel super nice there. The standard of everything there is just higher than in any other hotel we have been so far in Guatemala. If it comes to the shower, bathroom, bed or any other facilities, it’s just great! Also the small details! And the best thing is really as already mentioned the staff there. This is one of the hotels where you will say in a few years, remember the „El Viajero“ in rio dulce, and you‘ll immediately remember which one it was.
