Lovely old property directly facing a beautiful loch. The upstairs double room overlooked the Loch and was furnished well with a very comfortable bed and modern en-suite shower room/wc. Breakfast, a full Scottish was excellent quality.

Crannaig house is so nice and sweet, it was our first day in Scotland and that was perfect start of our trip! I liked the house itself and our room. Everything is extremely clean, new, quality linen, big fluffy towels, soaps, cream and shampoo by Scottish natural Highland Soap company. We also got a sweet present, homemade here in Aberfoyle. Please don’t hesitate to have breakfasts and dinner at Crannaig House, because Shaun is excellent cook and everything was so delicious! Also Shaun gave us some suggestions for our rout. Thank you very much and best wishes!

what’s not to like about this lovely hotel?! first of all, we liked very much the idea that it belongs to the community of Gartmore , thus giving it a sense of familiarity and warmth. rooms spacious and very clean, hearty breakfast and a nice, cozy pub to unwind! the manager of the hotel told us about the history of the place and how it ended being sold to the people of Gartmore and we will definitely return!

Location, friendly and hospitable staff, main building charming. Sam at reception however promised some money back for not staying Sunday 21st July, but yet to see any mention on that matter inspite of trying to chase it up.

Lovely resort hotel. Amazing facilities to enjoy for everyone. Stayed in the luxury 3 bedroom apartment with a sauna. Very clean spacious but not happy with the wi fi which is non existent. Even our own network couldn’t get a signal. Staff are good but prices in the restaurant are quite pricey. It would be perfect if the food prices are reasonable.

We had the most relaxing break the facilities were great 👍 the accommodation was fantastic 👌 the bungalow was a great surprise and equipped with everything you need. The gardens were gorgeous and the ripple of the river as we sat having our morning coffee on the patio. The staff were all very pleasant and very helpful. We had a great time and we will definitely stay with MacDonald Forest Hills Resort again and again.

Nothing. The stay was absolutely terrible start to finish. During dinner (which we sent back) we were on booking.Com looking for alternative accommodation. It seemed impossible to speak to a member of staff that could do anything about the issues raised.

You know what.... The wear and tear on the self catering apartments and some of the facilities had a minor effect on the overall experience. Very practical accomodations, had everything we needed . Stunning view and beautiful grounds. Had a really great stay.
