Located in Udawalawe, NATURE HOUSE offers rustic accommodation with free WiFi access available at all areas. Rooms are comfortable, clean and fitted with a spacious private terrace. Lovely place run by a family. Room was big and great value for money. They had good food and humungous servings, and they were able to arrange everything that I needed (safari, transport to and from Udawalawe). Would recommend this place to everyone - don't even look elsewhere!

Located 17 km from Udawalawe National Park, Mango Tree House offers air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. Wonderful place to stay to enjoy Udawalawe Park owned by a welcoming couple. The bungalows are large, clean, and beautifully constructed. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio in the evening and showering in the outdoor waterfall shower. We were greeted with tea and cake. Dinner is spectacular vegetarian Sri Lankan cuisine. Go for the tours offered by the hosts as well. They are great. We did a 4 hour morning safari and saw many elephants, often without other jeeps around, as well as loads of birds, plus water buffalo and a crocodile. All in all, a wonderful operation. Perfect one night stop for your time in Udawalawe.

Boasting a spa and wellness centre and views of garden, Hasthi Safari Cottage is a recently renovated guest house set in Udawalawe, 16 km from Udawalawe National Park. The Cottage is situated in a quite location but is still very close to the center. The shower was beautiful and also the garden area very nice. Food was great and also the host was very friendly and helpful with safari and daytrip bookings.

With river views, Silent River Cottage is set in Udawalawe and has a restaurant and a 24-hour front desk. It is situated 16 km from Udawalawe National Park and features room service. Beautiful setting and Amila and his family were so kind and helpful. Food was delicious and very generous. They organized Safari for us with a picnic and good driver to pick us up and for safari. Would highly recommend!

Set in Udawalawe, 20 km from Udawalawe National Park, Vimanra Udawalawa offers accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a terrace. It’s a hidden gem. Fantastic value for the price. The owner went out of his way to accommodate our requests. From poolside you can watch water birds and other wildlife plentiful by the river. We also had some of the best curry we’ve had in Sri Lanka.

Ibis is located in Udawalawe and features a pool with a view and garden views. A super friendly and helpful host, who made us really welcome. The pool was a great bonus - just what we needed after a long days travel. Room was very large, very comfortable and had great facilities. We even had our evening meal here at a reasonable cost. Very good accommodation - would definitely stay again if I was in the area. They do their own safari tours but we had already booked one with a different company prior to arrival, so didn't get the chance to go with them.

Atha Safari Resort offers a hot tub and beauty services, as well as air-conditioned accommodation in Udawalawe, 50 km from Tangalle Lagoon. Beautiful and clean property. Felt like home. He organized the safari, the driver was a great guide. Lots of animals to see and lots of elephants. The owner is very kind. Definitely one of the most beautiful places I have stayed in Sri Lanka. Highly recommended for a few days getaway

Located in Udawalawe, 50 km from Tangalle Lagoon, Riverside Bird Paradise provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Beautiful, quiet location. The lodge is excellent, the best quiet environment I had in Sri Lanka, the jacuzzi tub is perfect for a dip after a long safari. The owner and staff are very friendly. The lodge also organized my private safari and my guide, driver Janaka, was excellent. I actually liked my Udawalawe safari better than the one I did in Yala.

Located in Udawalawe, 17 km from Udawalawe National Park, Green Paradise Cottage Udawalawa provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a restaurant. I had a lovely stay at Green Paradise Cottage, the garden was so beautiful with interesting plants, and the family were really friendly. They gave me traditional Sri Lankan breakfast and also I asked for dinner in the evening which was so welcome having arrived at 7 and travelling by bus to get there. One of the family also ran safaris, so organised it through them really easily and I had an amazing time seeing a whole family of elephants by the lake-very lucky!
