Rebuilt and new since the earthquake, we were there just as it reopened. The owner/GM (?) was very present. The parking was extra but easy and we got a nice cool car in the sweltering heat! The location is steps away from the new promenade which was opened the day we got there. L'Aquila has rebuilt this area nicely.

What a unique hotel high up in the mountains in a 16th century abandoned village. The floors and ceilings are original with comfortable beds made of wool. Modern bathrooms though. Lovely soap and oil in the bathroom. Staff were fantastic. The restaurant was rustic. We also enjoyed the extra activity of truffle hunting. The separate bar was also excellent

Simone provided all the important information and had a very good relationship with him. His mother is a wonderful woman, very sweet. The rooms were great, with self-check-in a big plus. It was great.
